Privacy Policy

Effective July 10, 2026 · Applies to the OwedZero web app and Android app (com.owedzero.app), operated by Setminded ("we").

The short version

Your financial data stays on your device. We don't ask for your bank login, we don't collect your Social Security number, we don't sell data, and we don't run third-party advertising or tracking. OwedZero produces planning estimates — it is not a tax preparer and files nothing on your behalf.

What the app stores, and where

Income entries, receipts (including photos you attach), mileage logs, deduction selections, your tax profile (state, filing status, income estimates, prior-year figures), and computed estimates are stored locally on your device — in your browser's storage for the web app, and in app-private storage for the Android app. This data is not transmitted to our servers. We have no account system in the current version, so there is nothing about you stored on our side.

What we never collect

Bank credentials or bank connections of any kind, Social Security numbers, Employer Identification Numbers, and payment-card details. Screens that compute taxes never send their figures anywhere.

What leaves your device

Nothing in normal use. If you tap an IRS payment link (IRS Direct Pay or EFTPS), your browser opens irs.gov or eftps.gov — from that point the IRS's own privacy policy applies. If you use the export feature, the file is generated on your device and goes only where you choose to send it.

Deleting your data

In the app: More → "Delete all my data" erases everything immediately and permanently from your device. Uninstalling the Android app or clearing browser storage does the same. Because we hold no server-side copy, there is nothing further for us to delete.

Children

OwedZero is a financial planning tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes and contact

If our data practices ever change — for example, if a future version adds optional cloud backup — this policy will be updated before those features ship, with the effective date above. Questions or requests: synergysoftwaresolutions3@gmail.com.
